In December 1958, Trains Magazine published a motive power roster of the Soo Line Railroad in an article entitled, "The Soo's Not Sleeping," by William D. Middleton. That roster is presented below. It includes all locomotives, both diesel and steam, owned and operated by the railroad as of July 1958.
