UP 4141: The George Bush Express Trip Index
	The Union Pacific Railroad Company recently painted one of it's newest locomotives, an SD70ACe built by ElectroMotive Division, in the colors of Air Force One, the aircraft used by the President of the United States of America. This 4,300 horsepower locomotive, designed and built using the latest technology for fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness, has been numbered 4141 in recognition of the 41st president of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush. On November 19, 2005, the 4141 along with two other UP locomotives pulled the George Bush Express from the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station to Dallas. This was the inaugural run of the 4141, which will now be used in regular freight service. Each view on this page is a link to another page of pictures and narrative describing this event. 	The Dallas Skyline shows up on the horzion as we near the city. Page Two has pictures taken as the excursion train approached Dallas on Saturday afternoon, and preparations for departure on Sunday morning. Click on the picture to the left to go to Page Two.
	If you look closely, you'll see the Columbine lurking behind the Union Station sign. We made sure to leave the hotel soon enough that we could have ample time for photos and exploring before departure... There were a lot of folks chasing the train, getting some really excellent shots that ultimately wound up on the internet. 	We have a picture of approximately this same view of downtown Austin hanging over our breakfast table. It's amazing how much the skyline of Austin has changed over the years. 	ATSF 3423, a 4-6-2 "Pacific" passenger locomotive, is on display in front of the beautifully restored depot in Temple, Texas. Page Five has pictures taken at the railroad museum in Temple, Texas. Click on the picture to the left to go to Page Five.
	I found this Santa Fe Warbonnet parked, waiting for a crew to bring her train up into Fort Worth, early on Thanksgiving Day. This was down on Bowie street, if I remember rightly. Page Six has pictures taken in and around Fort Worth, Texas. Click on the picture to the left to go to Page Six.
