The last run to Greenwood was offered as a ONE WAY trip to those that decided to take it, which explains why only about 10 people rode the last run. The News Herald Photographer did not get to ride in the Cupola between Loyal & Greenwood and thus missed some pretty scenery. Those that did ride the Last Run to Greenwood had to arrange transport home on their own. On the way home, the News Herald Photographer paced the train between Loyal & Greenwood in his Scheduled Ride's auto. This photograph was hard to place, initially, but the size of the Train itself was a DEAD giveaway it is between Loyal & Greenwood as the Extra made it's way back to Loyal. The entirety of the Train consisted of two Potash Corporation of Saskatewan Covered Hopper cars, spotted at the Cooperative Services fertilizer plant in Greenwood the week before. That put this photo at Owen Avenue, the only point between Loyal & Greenwood on the Greenwood Line where the line crossed a road at a 90 degree angle. Keith Meacham

The Last (I Promise) photo of the Last Run on the Greenwood Line from Marshchester News Herald 35mm Negatives. I guess, tagging along with Dad out here in the Soo Line Company Auto DID have an advantage. It certainly made me more familiar with the line, and tracking it was easier, to some extent. All in all, I did have some difficulty identifying the Locations of many of the 26 exposures the Photographer took as he both Rode the train to Greenwood then chased the train back to Loyal from Greenwood; this photo was one of those. Initially, I thought this was shot just west of Marshfield along county Highway ' Y ', where the County Trunk paralleled the Greenwood Line for about 2 miles before the Highway swung due north, Crossed the Greenwood Line and then curved due west to run along the Line on the North. The Trestle the train is crossing would have been a stand-in for the Trestle at MP 1. However, there were a couple of Giveaways that wasn't the case. The topography west of Marshfield doesn't look like this; there are stands of Trees that should cover up anything behind the Locomotive. Second was the Train; if you look closely enough you see the Roof Line to the extreme right of Caboose # 33 coming into view. That put this Locale just west of Loyal's Village Limits, at the Trestle over Bear Creek, since the two Potash Corporation of Saskatewan cars are coming back Empty from Cooperative Services' Fertz Plant in Greenwood. Photo was taken from Willard Road, which more-or-less paralleled the Greenwood Line from Loyal to a mile or so east of Owen Avenue. Keith
